Bonjou, my friends!
Today, I've got a tale to share about my trip to Haiti, I didn't exactly visit the country of Haiti but it sure did feel like it. Picture this: a 5-course culinary escapade, where Haitian and French flavors collide, brought to you by none other than the maestro herself, Chef Deborah. And guess what? It's all wrapped up in the cozy embrace of the INFUSED Supper Club – a place where intentional consumption and micro-dosing meets mouthwatering magic.
**Let's Begin: Mushroom Pâté and Lavender Ginger Gin Delight**
First up, we're diving into a world of mushroomy goodness – Mushroom Pâté. It was definitely nice play on the Haitian appetizer. Think of it as a warm hug for your taste buds. Paired with a Lavender Ginger Gin cocktail infused with honey, it's like nature giving you a wink and saying, "Relax, friend, I've got your back." The subtle touch of cannabis? It's like a little reminder to slow down and enjoy the ride.
**Course One: A play on Soup Joumou**

Now, let's talk about this 5mg Papaya Melon Gazpacho Soup that was so refreshing it immediately reminded me of the Haitian soup only eaten and prepared for Haitian Independence Day. Adorned with cherries, melon, mint, and papaya, it's like a tropical party in your mouth. One guest aptly said it's "light and refreshing," and those garnishes? They're like the trusty sidekicks adding that extra pop of pizzazz.
**Course Two: The Bold Crab Adventure**

The next course featured was inspired by Salade de Betteraves or a Haitian Beet Salad. The dish was a crab salad jazzed up with beets, pickled Scotch bonnets, and a sprinkle of crispy plantain. This dish is like a flavor explosion that'll make your taste buds dance. The heat? Just the right amount to keep things sassy, without setting off any fire alarms. It's like a Caribbean carnival on your tongue.
**Course Three: Epis-infused Charred Cabbage and Pineapple Magic**

Get ready for a treat – the Romescio Charred Cabbage with infused pineapples and epis sauce. Imagine cabbage so tender, it's like a hug from your grandma. Those infused pineapples in the epis sauce? They're like a breeze of freshness that's here to party. The charred cabbage? It's like a sweet surprise you never knew you needed. Chef Jean used her culinary skills to transform epis ( which means spices in Haitian Kreyòl) into an infusion that tied the dish together.
**Course Four: A Flavor Symphony**

Hold onto your taste buds because the Heritage Chicken dish is here to rock your world. The chicken? Tender and juicy, like a love song for your mouth. The fondant potatoes? They melt away like your worries on a beach vacation. And that Djon Djon sauce? Packed with umami magic. Chef included this great play on a staple in Haitian kitchens, black mushrooms. The pea puree? It's smooth like silk, lulling your senses into a state of bliss. It's like all the elements joined hands for a flavor-filled dance party.
**The Sweet Aftermath: The Gentle Buzz**
After the fourth course, something happened – a gentle buzz settled in just 15 minutes later. It's like your body decided to wrap itself in a cozy blanket of calmness. Due to each course ranging from 5mg - 15mg of intentional consumption; you're left feeling relaxed and serene.
**Sweet Dreams, Indeed: A Classic Haitian Dessert**

And finally, we reach the grand finale –A Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with a dash of Coconut Rum Sauce and a banana brulee. When you think of a traditional Haitian dessert, Pineapple Upside Down Cake comes to mind. It's moist, it's heavenly, and it's the cherry on top of an evening drenched in mindful micro-dosing. Not too sweet, not too heavy – just perfect.
So whether you're dipping your toes into the cannabis waters or you're a seasoned pro looking to embrace intentional consumption, this 5-course Haitian French Fusion feast by Chef Deborah and hosted by the INFUSED Supper Club is a must-try. It's like mindfulness and flavor decided to dance to Kompa on your palate. Here's to intentional micro-dosing, savoring life's moments, and finding your bliss, one delicious bite at a time.
Until next time, Orevwa!
